Ix-Chel Wolfe

Owner & Principal

Aló, aló! My name is IxChel Wolfe. I was born and raised in Mexico. Part of my childhood I lived in Mexico city and the rest in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. In Guadalajara, I studied International Studies at the Universidad de Guadalajara. But my true passion is Early Childhood Education. A few years later I moved to Seattle, I pursue it and got my AAS in Early Childhood Education at North Seattle College. A year ago, I got my Montessori Certification for years 3 to 6 years old from North America Montessori Center (NAMC).
When I am at Colores!, I enjoy seeing children thrive by communicating their needs and desires, conquering their fears and socialize without the need to sacrifice their uniqueness and individuality. Having a loving and safe environment is something that Colores! Wants to offer but also trying to find ways to encourage children to take risks to gain more confidence and develop more critical thinking and problem-solving. We are grateful to be part of our families’ teams to create a future generation that can love, persevere, think and work for their dreams as future citizens. I find that children (and honestly, all of us) can benefit from learning a second language. At Colores, we are so happy to speak in Español all day!

Likes: My Wolfe pack which includes my family and friends, glitter and sequins!, movies and books (book clubs rock!) and drag queen shows.
Dislikes: pollution (our World needs more love and less plastic!) and ginger…
Dreams: Seeing “my” children (students and my own) thrive and become amazing human beings. Offering our school to more families, let’s spread more love and more bilingualism!
Continuing studying, there is always something new to learn.

Luis Carlos Ahumada

Vice Principal & Lead Teacher

Quihubo, qué más? My name is Luis Carlos Ahumada González. I was born and raised in Cartagena, Colombia. In Colombia, I used to be a business owner. Life is too short so I left Colombia, moved to Argentina and then to Alaska! Later on, life took me to Seattle, a city that now I call home.
When I am at Colores!, children and I spend time together out having adventures! We go to community centers, parks, local playgrounds, museums, etc, etc. I encourage physical activity in children by playing sports daily. I also like being a mediator to help children solve their own problems and do critical thinking.

Likes: I like skating, cooking (I make delicious arepas and colombian soups, trust me!) and traveling including road trips!

Dislikes: cleaning my bathroom! I also don’t like heights, I am not an eagle!

Dreams: Continuing traveling around the World. Becoming a volunteer to help a place in need is also something that moves me. Having my own winery and a house in the country are also part of my dreams. One day, you’ll see.
